We as Lutherans believe that we are sinners and saints at the same time. All our lives we live by God's gracious forgiveness, because we are sinners now and will be until we die. At the same time, for the sake of Jesus, who gave his life for us, God makes us saints--cleansed and holy people. Martin Luther's last written words were "We are beggars--that is true". We are beggars--we have nothing to offer God in exchange for life and salvation. But we beggars have been invited to the table of the Savior, to feast on the Bread of Life. All sinners are welcome here at Central. Come, taste the healing power of God's gift of life.
